At the behest of the United Stated Special Operations Command known as SOCOM a rail was designed. The rail needed to not only be compatible with the current inventory of M4 rifles but it had to allow for the free float of an M203 grenade launcher. This revolutionary product has never been done before and Daniel Defense hit a grand slam.

As far as the civilian side goes, we won't be mounting a M203 now or in the foreseeable future but we can still take advantage of the same rail used by special operations units. Who doesn't want to own the same gear and run the same equipment as our elite tip of the spear forces use. This free float hand guard is made from 6061-T6 aluminum and features a hard coat anodized finish.
